Two demented Minnesota cops charged down an apartment complex hallway in Duluth, cackling maniacally, falsely reporting “shots fired,” and subsequently opening fire on unarmed innocent bystander 23-year-old Jared Fyle through his own apartment door.
After shooting the civilian four times at point blank range, he cried out: “STOP! STOP! STOP! OW!”
The evil, unhinged officer then shot the man twice more through the door.
Mortifying video of the September 2020 encounter has just been released to the public.
The flagrant flouting of a policeman’s code of honor was on full display as the sick cop brutally shot the innocent bystander six times through his own front door.
The justification for the attack was illegitimate to begin with: Sources are reporting that the policeman announced that shots were fired when the loud sound was actually a door slamming.
Twin Cities Pioneer Press reports:
The video, as previously described in court documents, shows Leibfried and fellow officer Cory Lindsholm walking up to a third-floor unit at the Kingsley Heights Apartments on the night of Sept. 12, 2020, after they received a report of a possible domestic disturbance. They determined there was no cause for arrest but were planning to speak with the occupant, Jared Fyle.
Leibfried, trailed by Lindsholm, was approaching the door when two loud banging noises could be heard — something both officers later said they believed to be gunshots. The videos show Leibfried ducking into a small alcove, with Lindsholm seeking cover down the hallway and around a corner.
Leibfried quickly calls out “shots fired” over the radio and retrieves his duty pistol as Lindsholm is heard yelling his name from down the hall. The video shows Leibfried pointing his gun at the door, which has no signs of damage, for several seconds before firing an initial volley of four shots — some 10 seconds after the initial banging noises were heard.
Fyle, who remains inside the apartment, can be heard screaming “Stop!” at least nine times, followed by an expression of “Ow!” Leibfried, after waiting 6 seconds, then fires and additional two rounds into the door as further screams are heard from Fyle and others in the building.
“Please! Stop!” Fyle is heard shouting. “Can I open the door? Stop! Ow! I got shot! Open the door! Open the door! Please! Stop!”
The AP confirmed that the sound was in fact the door slamming and not gunfire inside the apartment in a recent article detailing the charges against officer Leibfried.
They also note that if the officer is even charged to begin with, which is unlikely due to qualified immunity, he will not spend more than two years in prison, though will likely get time served and a reduced sentence.
From the AP:
Jared Fyle, 23, was struck by gunfire and injured. He told investigators the loud noise captured on the officers’ body cameras was caused by him kicking shut and locking the door, not gunfire.
Leibfried is charged with intentional discharge of a firearm that endangers safety and reckless discharge of a gun within a municipality. Each carries a maximum two years in prison and a $5,000 fine upon conviction.
